India’s homegrown brand Micromax’s subsidiary Yu Televentures has launched a new phone in India dubbed as Yu Yureka 2. It comes as the company’s latest addition to its Yureka series followed by YU Yureka, Yureka Plus, Yureka Note, Yureka S and the most recent Yureka Black. Yu Televentures has come a long way starting from offering CyanogenOS as default operating system to a near stock UI to finally a custom UI now.
The Yu Yureka 2 comes in a metal unibody design with a fingerprint scanner located on the back. It sports a 5-inch Full HD display with a resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels. Furthermore, the display also gets 2.5D curved glass on the top. It is powered by an octa-core Snapdragon 625 processor paired with 4GB of RAM. For storage, the phone gets 64GB of internal memory further expandable up to 128GB with a MicroSD card. However, it doesn’t house a dedicated microSD card and you have to choose between either 2nd SIM card or a MicroSD card.
In terms of optics, the Yu Yureka 2 houses a 16-megapixel rear camera with dual-tone LED flash and an 8-megapixel selfie camera on the front. Powering all, there sits a 3,930mAh battery backed by Qualcomm Quick Charge 3.0 to quickly fill up the tank. The phone carries a price tag of Rs 11,999 and will be available exclusively on Flipkart during Big Billion Day sale starting 20th September.
Looking at the specs and price, the phone will be directly competing against the likes of Redmi Note 4 and Lenovo K8 Plus. Both of these phones are available in the same price bracket and offers similar specs.
