Ziox Astra Curve Pro Launched with 5.5-inch Curved Display for Rs. 5,499

India based brand Ziox has launched a new smartphone for the Indian market, dubbed as the Astra Curve Pro. This smartphone looks very similar to the Astra Curve 4G but has a higher resolution display. The phone has been launched at a price tag of Rs. 5,499 making it a budget smartphone. Does it have what it takes to make its mark in this price segment? Let’s find out.

Design and Display

The Ziox Astra Curve Pro has a very modern looking curved design that makes it very comfortable to both hold as well as navigate through the phone’s interface. On the front, it has a 5.5-inch HD display having a resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels. It also has a 3D glass layered over the display giving the phone a premium feel. Being a budget phone, it has no fingerprint sensor located on either side of the device. On the back is where the primary camera module and speaker grill is located.

Performance and Storage

Underneath its hood, the phone is powered by a quad-core processor clocked at 1.3GHz. It is slightly unfortunate that the phone packs in just 1GB of RAM. Both these factors considered, the phone will not be able to give you exceptional results in terms of multitasking or heavy app usage. It will, however, be able to tackle most daily tasks like calls, browsing the internet and messaging over WhatsApp. In terms of storage, the phone will ship with just 8GB of storage. This can be expanded up to 32GB through a microSD card.

Camera and Software

In the camera department, the phone doesn’t feature the fancy dual camera setup but sticks to the conventional single camera on each side of the device. On the rear side is where a 5MP primary snapper is situated. It is complemented with an LED flash for capturing images in not so well-lit environments. On the front, there is a second 5MP selfie camera which can be used for video calling purposes as well. In the software department, the Astra Curve Pro ships with Android 7.0 Nougat out of the box.

Connectivity and Battery

The latest offering from Ziox offers all the conventional connectivity solutions including 3G, 4G with VoLTE, WiFi, Bluetooth and GPS. It will also allow users to use up to two SIM cards simultaneously. A nice addition to this phone is that it has integrated support for 21 regional languages. The company has boasted that the device can translate, transliterate or show the meaning of any word to the user. The smartphone draws its power from a 2,800mAh battery unit located underneath its shell. Ziox has also equipped the Astra Curve Pro with a stamina mode to squeeze some more juice out of its battery.

The phone will ship in three colour variants viz. Red, Black and Blue. The phone will be available through most brick and mortar shops across India. Stay tuned to our blog, Facebook page and Twitter handle to read more of such exciting news.
