Chinese handset maker Zopo today launched the Color X 5.5 smartphone in India. It comes in Charcoal Black, Royale Gold, Orchid Gold and Space Grey colours and costs Rs. 11,999. The actual sale, however, takes place starting April 20th across all major offline retailers.

The device boasts of a multi-functional ‘One Button Access’ feature, letting users control all other functions by pressing just a phone button. As a result, you can now unlock the phone and go back by means of a single a tap. A couple of taps will take you straight to home screen whereas the long tap will show recent apps.

Specs-wise, the Zopo Color X 5.5 comes with a 5.5-inch 720p IPS 2.5D curved display. Inside are quad-core MediaTek MT6737 chip clocked at 1.3GHz and Mali-T720 GPU for graphics. It further embraces 3GB RAM and 16GB built-in storage, which is expandable up to 64GB through microSD.

The Dual-SIM device runs Android 6.0 Marshmallow operating system with a customised CoolUI 8.0 on top. For photography, it houses an 8-megapixel rear camera with f/2.2 aperture and LED flash. Up front, on the other side, is a 5-megapixel selfie camera with flash. It is 8.7 mm slim and 166 g in weight.

The Zopo Color X 5.5 packs a 2500mAh battery in addition to connectivity options like 4G LTE, WiFi 802.11 a/b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0, GPS. Shockingly enough, it lacks a fingerprint scanner, which is not really uncommon these days at this price.

Update (April 13th, 2017 / 10:24 AM): Zopo Mobile reached out to me on Twitter and confirmed that the Color X 5.5 has integrated a fingerprint scanner underneath the physical home button.
