MWC 2019: ZTE Announces Axon 10 Pro 5G and Blade V10 smartphones

ZTE, the Chinese manufacturer, has launched two new smartphones at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona. Several companies have launched new 5G phones and ZTE is the latest to join the bandwagon. Even OnePlus showcased a 5G phone, but did not reveal its design or any other details. ZTE has launched two phones, one of which is the flagship Axon 10 Pro, which is a 5G capable device. The second phone is the Blade V10, successor to the Blade V9, which is a mid-range device. Let’s take a look at the specifications and features of both the phones.

ZTE Axon 10 Pro 5G

The Axon 10 Pro is the first 5G smartphone from ZTE and it will be available in Europe and China in mid-2019. The exact launch date and pricing hasn’t been announced yet. This is a flagship grade phone and comes with the latest hardware. ZTE has equipped the phone with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 chipset and the Snapdragon X50 modem for 5G support. The phone will come with an in-display fingerprint scanner and a triple-rear camera setup. The company did not give out any other information regarding the phone.

You can see in the above official render that the phone will come with a waterdrop notch. The triple-rear camera setup can also be seen. As this is a flagship 5G smartphone, it will feature several AI capabilities that will enhance photography, gaming and regular usage. ZTE also mentions that the Axon 10 Pro comes with stunning graphics and audio. The phone will be sold in China and Europe with support from carriers such as China Unicom, Hutchison Drei Austria and Elisa.

ZTE Blade V10

The Blade V10 is the second smartphone that ZTE announced at Mobile World Congress. It is the successor to the Blade V9 and features improvements in design and hardware. This device is powered by an unknown octa-core processor that’s clocked at 2.1 GHz, which is coupled with up to 4GB RAM and 64GB of onboard storage. The phone comes with a 6.3-inch FHD+ display that has a notch at the top. One of the main selling points of this phone is the high resolution 32-megapixel selfie camera residing inside the notch.

The smartphone comes with a dual-rear camera setup that comprises of a primary 16-megapixel sensor paired with a 5-megapixel depth unit. It houses a 3,200mAh battery and runs Android 9.0 Pie out of the box. Once again, ZTE did not unveil the price of the phone, but did say that customers will be able to purchase it in April this year. It will be available in Europe, China and Latin America.
