ZTE has launched a new smartphone dubbed as ZTE S3003 in China for the price of just 399 Chinese Yuan (Rs 3,900). Well, it’s not just another budget smartphone, it’s a smartphone which comes without a camera or internet connectivity. The lack of camera or internet connectivity makes it a quite interesting phone and it’s causing a lot buzz lately, ever since it was spotted on Chinese telecom regulatory authority – TENAA.
It comes with a premium looking metal unibody, and a complete bareback panel without a camera lens or fingerprint scanner makes it even more intriguing. The phone is also very slim in design with the thickness of just 7.4mm. It sports a 5-inch HD TFT display with a resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels. Under the hood, it is powered by a quad-core MediaTek MT6735 64-bit processor coupled with 1GB of RAM and 8GB of internal storage. It comes with 4G VoLTE compatibility which you can use only for calling, not for data consumption.
Apart from basic specs, it is not yet clear whether this phone comes with basic connectivity features such Bluetooth and GPS. ZTE has also made the device encrypted so that your calls and SMS are secure. So, it would be interesting to see whether this experiment from ZTE turns out to be successful or not. ZTE has launched this phone in China and it is not clear whether they are planning to launch it in India or not.
So, next time when you plan to escape from your hectic lifestyle and go on a solo trip to get away from all the traffic, pollution and those slack notifications continuously reminding you to complete your assignments, ZTE S3003 is your buddy. It’s a phone which just serves its primary purpose i.e., calling, nothing more. It’s a phone for those who loves to look at the stars, not just the screens. It’s a phone with which you won’t be tempted to check for Facebook or post a picture on Instagram because well, it doesn’t have the internet connectivity.
