Editor Notes

Lenovo A7000 is an upgrade to the Lenovo A6000. A slightly similar specification and price makes obvious for a comparison. Lenovo A6000 wasn’t exposed to much limelight because after 2 months it was soon preceded by the Lenovo A7000.

Both are LTE capable, dual SIM phones. The Lenovo A7000 has a bigger display at 5.5 inches whereas the Lenovo A6000 sports a 5 inch display. Both have the same resolution of 1280x720 pixels, making the PPI of their displays a deciding factor. At 5.5 inches, the Lenovo A7000 houses a lesser 267 PPI whereas the A6000 has a density rated at 294 PPI, which makes the display on the A6000 much more dense and readable than the A7000. If you make a decision based on the display size, either one of these wouldn’t disappoint.

In terms of performance, the newer Lenovo A7000 runs on an octa-core processor while the A6000 runs a quad-core processor. A7000 has 2GB RAM while the A6000 has 1GB of RAM which may feel inadequate for multitasking. The specifications of A7000 seems to favor performance and it is a lot better than the A6000. Internal specifications of both the device are identical, 8GB of internal memory and expandable microSD card support upto 32GB.

Both the devices have an 8MP camera with flashlight, none of them can record 1080p. We would recommend you to look elsewhere if you are looking for a phone that can record FullHD videos. You can expect same quality out of them as they have the same camera sensors. There is a removable 2900mAh battery on the Lenovo A7000 which is lot bigger that the 2300mAh battery of the A6000. Meaning that Lenovo A7000 should run a little longer than the A6000.

Lenovo A7000 runs on Android 5.0 Lollipop out of the box, whereas the A6000 has been promised an update by Lenovo. They both come with Lenovo’s Vibe UI installed atop which feels rather bloated. While there are subtle changes on Lollipop version of Vibe Ui and you would get some new Android Lollipop features on the A7000. You would have to wait for the same to arrive on the A6000 via a software update.
