The real strength of Gionee lies in its R&D and the ability to come up with devices that are not only innovative and unique but also fit the pocket of its consumers without burning an absolute hole. It has been since 2011, that Gionee has been expanding outside China, making its presence felt in countries most notably including: India, Nigeria, Vietnam, Taiwan, Myanmar, Thailand, Philippines and Bangladesh very recently. As of 2015, Gionee exports more than 1 million devices to the above mentioned and more countries. While Gionee has been criticized in the past for its less than perfect software optimisation, the Chinese brand has definitely improved on that front too, though some more work still needs to go there. Giving the likes of Samsung mobile and Apple a run for their money in several states of India, Gionee is gradually climbing the charts of acceptability and becoming a brand that people are beginning to talk about and take notice. They're also positioning themselves a step above new entrants like XiaomiHuawei Honor or YU, that sell their products at razor-thin margins.
