Introduction:
BlackBerry DTEK50 is a single SIM device that was launched in July 2016. Oleophobic covering for fingerprint smudges, scratch proof display, live colours filters, intelligent keyboard, expandability up to 2TB and security features like password keeper and encryption are its major highlights.
Display and Design:
This single SIM device comes with 5.2 inch LCD full HD display, 1920 x 1080 pixels resolution, spontaneous navigation based on gesture, 423.64PPI pixel density and customisable BlackBerry convenience key. It has a dimension of 72.5 x 147 x 7.4 mm and it weighs 135 grams. It is available in Black colour.
Hardware and Features:
It comes with a 1.2GHz octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 617 processor, Android 6.0 Marshmallow operating system, Adreno 405 graphics and 3GB RAM. Accelerometer, gyroscope, hall-effect, ambient light sensor, magnetometer and proximity sensor are in-built. Various apps like BlackBerry Launcher, YouTube, BlackBerry services,, Google photos, Microsoft exFAT Technology for BlackBerry, Messenger, Blackberry security and Gmail are pre-installed.
Camera and Storage:
This device is loaded with 13MP rear camera and 8MP front camera, dual LED flash and autofocus. Touch focus, ISO control, panorama, HDR, exposure compensation features are available. It has an internal memory of 16GB that can be expanded up to 2TB with the help of micro SD card.
Battery and Connectivity:
This device comes with 2610mAH non-removable Li-ion battery with QC2.0 for fast charging. It provides the users with 12.8 days of standby time, up to 17 hours of talk time, nearly 40 hours of music playback time and video playback time of up to 8 hours. Connectivity options include Wi-Fi, GPS, NFC, Bluetooth, 4G and mobile hotspot.
Competition:
BlackBerry DTEK50 faces completion from Apple iPhone 5s due to their availability in similar price range. However, it has larger screen and better camera and storage than Apple iPhone 5s.
