Gionee P5W

Gionee has launched a new device priced around Rs.6000, the Gionee P5W is launched and available in 5 colors viz; Black, Blue, Red, White and Yellow.

Design and Display
As expected from any device in this budget, the Gionee P5W gets a Plastic body which looks like the iPhone 5C with all the color options available. On the front sits a 5 inch HD (1280x720pixels) display which sounds sharp enough for a 5 inch display and gives the display a total pixel density of 294PPI.

Specifications and Software
On the inside is a MediaTek MT6735 Quad Core chipset clocked at 1.3GHz and combined with it is just 1GB of RAM. The processor sounds decent for performing very basic tasks but the 1GB RAM is a major draw back since at least 2GB of RAM is needed to have a good multitasking experience. On the software front Gionee P5W's operating system is based on Android 5.1 Lollipop out of the box with no details on future updates whatsoever.

Camera and Storage
On the rear of the device you get a 5MP sensor that can record videos up to 720p, whereas on the front is just 2MP camera. The rear camera also gets an LED Flash to take shots and record videos at night. Coming to storage, you get 16GB of internal storage which can be further expanded up to 32GB via a MicroSD card.

Battery and Connectivity
Powering the device is a 2000mAh user replaceable battery which sounds quite low which makes us doubt if it will last through a whole working day. The Phone accepts Dual Micro SIMs but lacks 4G LTE connectivity.
