HTC is gearing up to give tough competition to the Nokia Lumia 920 & 820 with its Windows Phone 8 offerings. The 8X is one of the first Windows Phone 8 devices to arrive. While simply designed, 8X’s slim, sleek and squared corners draw the user’s attention to the 4.3 inches 720p HD display screen with Gorilla Glass 2 for protection. The S LCD2 Capacitive touch screen gives a resolution of 720*1280 pixels. Powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon chipset, it has a dual-core processor of 1.5GHz and runs on Microsoft Windows Phone 8 OS. 8X enhances connectivity options with features like 2G/3G, dual-band Wi-Fi, Bluetooth v2.1 and internal GPS antenna with GLONASS. 8X has an internal storage of 16GB. Sporting an 8 megapixel camera, it has Auto focus, LED Flash and BSI sensor. It thus entails an image quality of 3264*2448 pixels. It also has a secondary front-facing camera (2.1 MP). 8X’s other specifications include sensors like proximity, accelerometer, digital compass, standard Li-ion battery of 1800 mAh, Live Tiles that helps the user arrange start screen with latest updates and in-built Beats Audio for distinguished sound quality. HTC Windows Phone 8X will be available in four colours - California Blue, Graphite Black, Flame Red and Limelight Yellow.
