- Ample 64GB of internal storage
- Fast charging out of the box
- Hands-free voice control
Cons
- Middling camera quality

- No TD-LTE (Band 40, 2300MHz) that some Indian 4G networks use
Motorola has been on a roll, attracting customers with good products at a reasonable price, with the promise of a clean stock Android experience. Although the Nexus 6 was a feature-packed smartphone, many people were put off by the huge form factor. The Moto Turbo aims to fill that gap between the spartan-ness of the Moto X 2nd Gen and the former. The Turbo moniker suggests the phone to be topped up with features, and more prominently, an industry best battery life. The phone is also known as the Droid Turbo and Moto Maxx in some countries.
Here are the things on offer:
Here are the things on offer:
- 5.2-inch Quad HD (2560 x 1440 pixel) AMOLED display, that takes the pixel density to a whopping 565PPI, one of the highest at the time of writing. It is protected by Cornings Gorilla Glass 3
- Qualcomm Snapdragon 805 quad-core 2.7GHz chip with Adreno 420 graphics
- 3GB RAM, 64GB internal storage (no microSD card slot, but with 64GB, we doubt many would complain)
- A huge 3900mAh battery, one of the biggest in any smartphone in the market today (certainly the biggest amongst competitive flagships like Samsung Galaxy Note 4, HTC One M8 Eye or the Sony Xperia Z3). Keep in mind though that the hardware is also very battery-intensive, so although Motorola claims 48 hours on one charge, expect somewhat less if youre using it heavily. But still, should be better than most phones out there.
- Included in the box is a Qualcomm QuickCharge 2.0 compatible Turbo Charger that Motorola claims adds 8 hours of usage in just 15 minutes of charging.
- The rear camera is a 21 megapixel sensor, that can record 4K videos. The front-facing 2MP camera sits conveniently at the center of the top-side of the phone.
- The phone does have 4G support, but it is unclear whether it will work with Indian implementation of LTE i.e TD-LTE 2300MHz (Band 40).
- The phone has a water-repellent nano-coating, to protect against accidental splashes. The back of the phone is made out of nylon, making it a unique grippy-looking texture.
- The Moto Turbo runs Android 4.4 KitKat out of the box, but an update to 5.0 Lollipop is already deployed.
- It has all the signature features of the Moto X 2nd Gen, like Active Display with four IR sensors that let you perform actions by simply waving on top of the phone. It also has the Moto Voice feature, where the phone can wake up to accept voice functions with any custom command of your choice.
Another flagship devices which you can consider in the similar price range are Samsung Galaxy S6 32 GB or the HTC One M9 Plus.
