Talk about Sansui Mobile Phones, ask your questions!

Sansui is a Japanese brand most famous for its work in the Home Entertainment segment. The company has its headquarters in Tokyo, Japan and is the part of Grande Holdings which owns other well known brands like Akai and Nakamichi. Sansui has been around since 1947, when they made transformers. The business then shifted focus to serious Audio equipments, and throughout the 1960s and 70s the Amplifiers and Tuners from Sansui remained in extremely high demand.

Sansui came up with a winning formula in 1971 when it introduced the Quadphonic Synthesiser QS-1 which simulated four channel stereo from two channel sources, a technology that was improved over a period of time. It was during the late 70s when Sansui came up with a product that truly defined the image of the company and that was in the form of the matte black AU series of Amplifiers which were spotted at several concerts and live performances. The AU-D101 amp was the talk of the town in 1982 thanks to the low 2nd order harmonic distortion. Sadly though, the AU-D101 was the last of the great audio equipments from the labs of Sansui as post that the likes of Sony and Pioneer took over the mantle of being the brand to reckon with in the audio space. Television manufacturing was started around late eighties in Japan, but they did not begin exporting them to the world till around late 90s.

The operations came to India in 1997, and since then Sansui has worked in the electronic space producing Plasmas, LEDs, LCDs, Slim TVs, DVDs and smartphones. One look at the About Page of Sansui Global and you see how proud are they of the Japanese technology and their keenness on not dropping the baton. Sansui states that their devices offer world of features at the fingertips of their users and that the major focus for them has always been providing devices with immersive entertainment experience. In terms of their product lineup, Sansui does not have a very extensive product portfolio in India when it comes to phones. The primary vertical they exist in India remains to be Television rather than phones. Having said that, Sansui in mobile space caters to the audience in budget segment of smartphones. You do have Android smartphones in their lineup as well as a few feature phones with the good old T9 keypad. All the Sansui Android smartphones come with the moniker SA followed by the unique device number. The general consensus is that the higher the number is, better the smartphone is. Unfortunately, Sansui as a brand hasn't had as big a recall as other South-East Asian brands like Gionee, Vivo or even Sony, in the smartphone space.
