Samsung Galaxy Note 5 Features

Samsung Galaxy Note is the fifth phablet in the Galaxy Note series. It succeeds the Samsung Galaxy Note 4 and is the first Galaxy Note smartphone to have a metallic and glass construction. The Note 5 takes heavy inspiration in terms of design and looks from the Samsung Galaxy S6 and the S6 Edge while adding the features of Samsung Note line of phablets which includes a large screen as well as a stylus in the form of the S-Pen.

The Galaxy Note 5 is also the first Note phablet that does not come with a removable back panel. This means that some of the most talked about features of the Note series of devices, including the removable battery as well as expandable storage in the form of Micro SD slot are not available in the Note 5 which may well be a deal breaker for some of you. In terms of specifications and features, the following are the most notable features of the Galaxy Note 5:

Samsung Galaxy Note 5 comes with a 5.7 inch QHD display which gives it a PPI of very impressive 515. The Note 5 is also, one of the very few flagship devices of 2015 that are still persisting with a Super AMOLED display. The recently launched Google Nexus 6P is another device to sport the same AMOLED panel.

The phablet gets protection thanks to the Corning Gorilla Glass 4 layer on top of the display in order to resist scratches and other damages.

It is powered by an Exynos 7420 chipset which is an Octa-core SoC with combination of a Quad Core A53 and a Quad Core A57 CPU.

The Galaxy Note 5, just like the Note 4, comes with a fingerprint sensor as well as a heart rate sensor on the back of the phone near the camera module.

In terms of software, the Note 5 runs Android 5.1.1 with Android Lollipop beneath Samsung's TouchWiz UI.

Samsung Galaxy Note 5 comes with 4GB RAM and in two variants with: 32 GB and 64 GB internal memory.

The camera on the rear of the phablet is a 16 MP sensor with LED flash and a 5 MP front facing sensor. The rear camera is capable of shooting videos in 4K and comes with Optical Image Stabilisation as well as Dual Video Recording.

In terms of connectivity, the Note 4 comes with the usual set of them including: WiFi, Bluetooth 4.2, GPS, NFC, Micro USB 2.0 and also supports VoLTE.

The battery on the Note 5 is a non removable 3000 mAh Li-Po unit which ensures that the Note 5 lasts for about a day on a medium to heavy usage.

Samsung Galaxy Note 5 is available in plenty of colour options, including: Black Sapphire, Gold Platinum, Silver Titan and White Pearl.

User Reviews for Samsung Galaxy Note 5 (Total: 2)
By Sayali Grover on February 17, 2018
The phone is really good, I must recommend it to all those who are professionals and at times need to jot down points at a moment's notice. The screen clarity is good and processing speed as well. I've used games, applications and multimedia with other apps running in the background without the phone giving any kind of lag of trouble
The Good
  • S-Pen
  • The ability split the screen between apps
  • Fingerprint sensor is much faster than that on the iPhone.
The Bad
  • No extendable memory
