Xiaomi Lanmi X1 Features

With its highly competitive pricing, Xiaomi has already conquered the online smartphone market in India. Now, the company is eyeing the offline market. Even though online players offer huge discounts and products with more value for money, it still comprises of only 30-35% of market share. The offline channels still rule the smartphone market in India by a great margin.

Xiaomi knows it very well, that’s why it’s trying very hard to make its offline presence also. The recent moves such as Launching retail stores, coming up with offline-only products like Redmi 3S Plus completely justifies the earlier statement. Well, now as per the latest reports, Xiaomi is planning to come up with a smartphone lineup under a new sub-brand aimed at the offline market.

Currently, the offline market in India is being ruled by the likes of Oppo, Vivo and Gionee. With their robust distribution and marketing techniques, these companies have already grown deep roots into the offline segment. Xiaomi is also planning to do the same, but not with its current lineup. The company is planning to come up with a new lineup which will be called Lanmi.

The Lanmi X1 is speculated to be the first smartphone to launch under this sub-brand. Talking about the specs, the device is expected to sport a  5.5-inch Full HD display with a resolution of 2160 x 1080 pixels. Under the hood, it will be powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 660 chipset. As per the reports, the phone is supposed to come in two different variants. The top variant will get a virtually bezel-less display, 6GB of RAM and multiple storage options among 64GB and 128GB. The other variant comes with the regular display, 4GB of RAM and the same storage options of 64GB and 128GB.

The Lanmi X1 is also said to sport a dual rear camera setup. There are also rumours floating around claiming the phone to sport a front dual camera setup too. Apart from that, the device will also feature a rear-mounted fingerprint scanner. And, the handset is supposed to get a metal unibody design with a rear-mounted fingerprint scanner.

As per the reports, Xiaomi is planning to launch the Lanmi X1 at the end of this month i.e., July. The remaining specs and complete design of the device will only be confirmed by then.
