The M series of devices in the lineup of Gionee make up of phones whose USP is their battery life. The design and material of construction of the device as well as the specifications have gradually improved as the series has progressed. The Gionee Marathon M4 was launched in the year 2015 and sits comfortably in between the Marathon M3 and M5 as the affordable yet good looking Marathon device. M4 has a matt polycarbonate and metal hybrid construction which gives it a look that is premium. The specifications of the device are as follows:
- The Gionee Marathon M4 comes with a 5 inch Super AMOLED display with 720P resolution. This gives the phone a pixel density of 294 PPI, which while not being the best in the price range, is not an eye-sour either.
- The phone is powered by a Quad Core chipset with all the CPU cores firing at 1.3 GHz.
- On the memory front, the Gionee Marathon M4 comes with 2 GB RAM and 16 GB internal storage. There is a Micro SD slot in there too, to ensure that you have ample space for your multimedia storage.
- The rear camera is 8 MP on the Marathon M4 while the front-facing snapper is 5 MP.
- The USP of the phone is its battery which is a non-removable Li-Ion 5000 mAh battery. It promises up to 440 hours of standby time and about 50 hours of talking, which is amazing.
- Gionee Marathon M4 comes with Android 5.0 out of the box with Amigo 3.0, Gionee's custom Android skin, running on top.
- The device comes with all the usual set of connectivities, and you have support for Dual SIM cards and LTE too.

the reason I bought this phone is because of its 48 hour battery life. Since I’m working in sales, I was looking for a phone like this which comes with 5000 mah battery. Not only I call my clients but also talk to my family and girlfriend in a single charge.
Pros
- At a price of 12k, this phone is best you can get. I bought this from amazon.
- The box included back cover, screen guard, headphones and charger.
- Processor and inbuilt storage is sufficient for multi task and gaming.
Cons
- Sometimes it gets hot while using 4g and its metallic body makes it hotter.
- Android updates are late or sometimes it doesn’t upgrade.
