The film stars Chris Pine, Michelle Rodriguez, Regé-Jean Page, Justice Smith, Sophia Lillis, and Hugh Grant. Chris Pine portrays Bard, the charming thief and leader of the group. Michelle Rodriguez plays Drizzt Do’Urden, a half-drow ranger. Regé-Jean Page portrays Galadriel, a human fighter. Justice Smith plays Elminster Aumar, a human wizard. Sophia Lillis portrays Clarabelle, a halfling cleric. Hugh Grant plays Forge Fletcher, a human bard.

Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves was announced in 2013, with David Leslie Johnson-McGoldrick attached to write the screenplay. In 2016, Jonathan Goldstein and John Francis Daley were hired to direct the film, and Michael Gilio rewrote the screenplay. Principal photography began in April 2021 and wrapped in July 2021. The film’s score was composed by John Powell, a Grammy Award-winning composer known for his work on films such as How to Train Your Dragon, The Bourne Identity, and The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe.
