iQOO Z9x 5G India launch, design, Amazon availability officially confirmed

The iQOO Z9x 5G will launch in India on May 16. Nipun Marya, CEO of iQOO India, officially confirmed the launch date and unveiled the phone’s rear design via an announcement on X (formerly Twitter).

The iQOO Z9x 5G was the most affordable phone in the Z9 series that went official in China recently. However, there is no confirmation that the Indian version will mirror its Chinese counterpart. The iQOO Z9x 5G is launching on May 16 in India. The phone will be available for purchase from iQOO India’s e-store and Amazon India. There is already a product page for Z9x 5G on Amazon India. 

Recently, the unannounced phone was listed on the spare parts page of iQOO India’s website. It revealed that the device will arrive in 4GB, 6GB, and 8GB RAM variants. All of them will offer 128GB of built-in storage. There is no information about pricing yet.

The official poster confirms that the design of the Indian iQOO Z9x will be identical to its Chinese variant. The phone will come with flat frames and rounded corners. It will have a physical fingerprint scanner mounted on the power button. 

Looking at the Chinese version of the phone, the iQOO Z9x 5G (India) will sport a 6.72-inch LCD with a 120Hz refresh rate and 100 nits of peak brightness. A Qualcomm Snapdragon 6 Gen 1 chip with LPDDR4X RAM and UFS 2.2 storage will power the phone. It will run on a 6,000mAh battery with 44W wired charging support.

The back of the iQOO Z9x 5G will house a dual-camera setup consisting of a 50-megapixel primary shooter and a 2-megapixel depth lens. On the front, a punch-hole cutout will house an 8-megapixel selfie camera. The phone will ship with Android 14 out of the box. However, in the market outside of China, iQOO will most likely swap OriginOS 4 for FuntTouch OS 14.
